David Paul Schulz was born in San Francisco, California in 1944. He spent most of his childhood and teenage years in Iowa, Kansas and Wisconsin. Drawing and painting were always a part of his life, with a particular interest in portraits and the human body. He studied at the University of Wisconsin, interupted by two years in the Army. David spent two years as a graphic designer, and then went into business for himself as an illustrator after moving to central Connecticut. He has won numerous awards for his painting.
